Part-Time Recruitment Coordinator

At Uncommon Schools, we believe that without great teachers, nothing else matters.  The Recruitment Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting key team functions that support our recruitment work and ability to attract and hire talented, mission-driven teachers and staff members to work at Uncommon Schools. He or she will assist in building and maintaining systems and procedures for hiring as well as supporting key team administration functions.

This role is part-time (~20 hours/week) and can be a remote position.



  • Support key team functions and processes, such as our referral bonus program and candidate reimbursement process, to ensure candidates and referrers have an excellence experience with Uncommon Schools.
  • Demonstrates and communicates to candidates about Uncommon, what it is like to work in our organization, and why they should consider joining us.
  • Supports the candidate interview process when necessary. This could include:  
    • Reviewing applications, resumes and conducting phone screens and reference checks.
    • Coordinating and preparing materials for immersion days and interviews in collaboration with school leaders and Associate Directors of Recruitment.
  • Supports outreach efforts to inform candidates about opportunities across our schools and build candidate pipeline. This could include:
    • Posting job descriptions on all relevant platforms.
    • Collecting and sending materials to outreach events.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently and to be effective in a fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to our Home Office in New York City, our school and to recruitment-related events.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
