Position Overview
The Uncommon Schools Human Resources Coordinator supports the HR team in the administration of policies, procedures and programs. The Coordinator will work across many HR operations including benefits administration, onboarding, communications as well as organizational systems. The Human Resources Coordinator will be part of team that provides human resources services to support an employee-oriented, communicative, high-performing and goal-oriented work environment. 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The position requires a smart, detail-oriented, hard-working team player who can handle both mission critical projects and routine details with equal enthusiasm, efficiency, and attention to detail. Day-to-day work may include, but is not limited to:
HR Team Support
  • Manage agenda for weekly HR Team meetings, take notes and share with team each week.
  • Act as the HR team’s J-Factor Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to plan fun HR team outings/activities!
  • Redirect HR emails to the appropriate team member
Benefits Administration
  • Manage HR systems invoicing process in close collaboration with the Accounting team.
  • Assist Associate Directors of HR in effectively communicating benefits information to the network.
  • Manage distribution and filing of Unemployment notices
  • Assist with management of retirement benefit including distribution form completion and audits
  • Assist with accurate processing of Home Office payroll including compiling and tracking non-exempt time sheets
  • Process and manage employee tax forms to ensure proper tax set up
Communication Support
  • Respond to general HR questions from employees
  • Create effective and well-designed communications to share HR information with staff
Workforce Data and Analysis
  • Execute requests for data and delivers appropriate analysis on an ad hoc basis.
  • Compile information for routine reporting and analysis (e.g. wage/salary analysis, retention, state/federal reporting, and benefits census).
  • Maintain HR System by conducting frequent audits and strategizing ways to keep the data updated and accurate
Ad Hoc Projects
  • Support new initiatives and projects that the HR team takes on.
Required competencies, skills & abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills
  • High sense of urgency; demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to create and maintain systems that enhance organization efficiency
  • Thrives in evolving, fast-paced, high-change dynamic organizations
  • Demonstrated ability in data compilation and analyses
  • Outstanding judgment, sensitivity and high discretion
  • Competent  in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Interest in education/charter schools a plus
Experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree
