The IT Team is currently comprised of 14 members, and expected to grow by two more individuals (including this role) in the coming year. The IT Coordinator supports and enhances Uncommon’s IT by executing on key tasks, assisting to create/maintain systems and procedures for key tasks. Reports to: Senior Associate Director of IT, Project Management, and works closely with all members of the IT Team.
The position requires a smart, detail-oriented, hard-working team player with equal enthusiasm, efficiency, and attention to detail.  Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
1. Technology Customer Support
  • Maintain a knowledge library of common technology procedures & solutions
  • Analyze ticket data from our support ticket system to identify trends
  • Respond to incoming support requests as needed and recommend a long-term solution where appropriate.

2. Team Systems and Logistics
Manage logistics for the IT Team (e.g., office-based meetings,  professional development sessions, school-based meetings).  Logistics may
include, but are not limited to:
  • Reserve meeting rooms, managing room set-up and ordering meals
  • Prepare and distribute meeting materials, prior to and after meetings
  • Process vendor purchase orders and invoices
  • Update budget tracker in preparation for monthly & quarterly budget reviews
  • Work with PMO in preparing and analyzing project retrospective surveys and other project close tasks

3. Team Support
  • Ad Hoc Projects - support new initiatives and projects
  • Create effective and well-designed communications to share IT information with staff
  • Manage agenda for various monthly/weekly internal and external meetings, take notes and share with participants after each meeting
  • Act as the IT Team’s Joy Factor Coordinator; assist in planning periodic IT team outings/activities 
  • Work with the Uncommon Schools Accounting and Financial Management teams to support annual E-rate audit and receiving of funds

  • Ability to create and maintain systems that enhance organizational efficiency
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability in data compilation and analyses
  • Willingness and ability to travel to our school locations in New Jersey, Rochester, Troy, and Boston
  • Ability to anticipate team needs before they arise
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Unrelenting passion for urban education
  • Openness and appreciation for frequent feedback
  • Ability to thrive independently with a high degree of autonomy, as well as in a cooperative, diverse group with specific, set objectives

Minimum educational level:
  • Bachelor’s degree
