Student Recruitment Manager

POSITION
Launched in 2014, Camden Prep is a college-preparatory public Renaissance School serving the students of Camden, NJ. Our students are selected by random public lottery. Each year, Camden Prep launches a large student recruitment campaign to fill its seats for the upcoming year. Camden Prep is currently hiring a Student Recruitment Manager to join our incredible team and assist our operations team with student recruitment campaign. We are looking for team members who are eager to meet new people, establish partnerships in our community, love talking about our schools, and help our founding team drive Camden Prep’s growth over the next five years.

A successful candidate in this role must be able to communicate effectively with various constituent groups and prospective families and have strong project management, organizational, and operational skills. This role serves as a public ambassador for our schools and requires a confident and vocal attitude in order to educate the local community about Camden Prep. In this role, the Student Recruitment Manager will work out of our school site, and within the larger Camden community (up to at least 40 hours/week) including some evenings and Saturdays.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Director of Regional & Community Initiatives in ongoing special projects and community workPlan and execute small and large recruitment events in partnership with various community organizations (e.g., day care centers, apartment complexes, community organizations, etc.)and other prospective partners
  • Support Camden Prep outreach events by helping with set-up/break down, materials preparation, and other tasks as requested
  • Manage family information databases and compile regular reports to track & share progress
  • Responsible for all data entry & data tracking related to student recruitment
  • Research community organizations and businesses; establish relationships with new community partners
  • Liase with prospective families and local community members and share information about our schools and recruit new students to enroll
  • Support management of 3-5 person part-time recruitment team
  • Support the Director of Regional & Community Initiatives in ongoing special projects and community work
  • Other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of three years of work experience
  • Strong connection to South Jersey/Philadelphia area and/or urban school sector preferred
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills; high sense of urgency; demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong customer serve approach and affinity for sales
  • Persistence and high sense of urgency to “close the deal” and encourage prospective families to enroll their child in our schools
  • Confidence in speaking to prospective families to better understand their desires in a school and communicating how those values align to Camden Prep’s mission
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills (written and oral)
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Transportation method to get around Camden easily
  • Strategic thinker/systems-oriented
  • Spanish proficiency and a flexible schedule are plusses
